Have you made the Pegasus Promise?

The  Pegasus Promise  is a commitment that you'll contribute at least four hours of volunteer time during the 2025-26 school year.

Why should I volunteer?

The more parents volunteer their time and skills at school, the more opportunities there will be for students to succeed. You’ll witness the positive effect your participation has on the school.

  • Volunteering makes a difference in your student's education: Research has shown that volunteers are a valuable asset in contributing to better school attendance, improved grades and test scores, better social skills, graduating, and college/career readiness.
  • Volunteering allows you to spend more time with your student: Students spend a lot of time at school. As a volunteer, you'll share in school-related experiences, adding to your common interests and communication will significantly increase.
  • Volunteering helps create community: Volunteering at school is a great way to connect with other parents and build the power of community in raising children.
  • Volunteering allows you to get to know teachers and staff: Your child's teacher and school staff have a tremendous impact on students, both academically and socially. Your presence at school is a great way to get to know them better and show them your support.
  • Volunteering makes schools better: Schools that have a strong school volunteer base perform better. There are so many demands placed on schools with limited financial resources. Any volunteer effort can help bridge that gap at no additional cost to the school.
  • Volunteering allows you to use your strengths: Volunteering is a great way to share your strengths. Use the skills that come naturally to you.
  • Volunteering inspires future volunteers: Your child will witness your effort to support student success firsthand. By doing so you inspire the next generation of volunteerism.
