PTSAA special welcome to our newest Pegasi! We are so excited to welcome you to Booker T. and the Parent Teacher Student Association.

Parent/Guardian Membership

The "P" in PTSA stands for Parents! Parents and guardians, your active membership keeps you connected to your school community and gives you a voice in your student's educational success and personal well-being. By becoming a PTSA member, you can form a partnership with your student and their teachers, and develop lasting relationships with other Booker T. families. At least one parent/guardian per household is encouraged to join the PTSA to receive these benefits: 

  • Receive the school-wide informative weekly newsletter.
  • Attend and vote at the PTSA membership meetings.
  • Attend Parent University, hosted by the PTSA, to empower parents with resources important to student learning and socio-emotional development.
  • Attend Lunch Talk! with the principal hosted by the PTSA, which allow parents to learn and discuss important topics with the principal.
  • Enjoy the National PTA and Texas PTA membership benefits

Faculty and Staff Membership

The "T" in PTSA stands for Teachers! As teachers play a vital role in a child's education, the PTSA celebrates and supports the faculty and staff with events and programs. Here are some more ways the PTSA supports teachers and staff:

Student Membership

The "S" in PTSA stands for Students! Student voices are amplified in the PTSA and play an important role in the decision-making process. Adding PTSA to your resume for student leadership activities is highly recommended. By becoming a part of PTSA, you will acquire valuable experience in leadership, advocacy, public speaking, teamwork, and event planning, all the while positively impacting your school. Additionally, PTSA student members earn community service hours for their contributions to the organization. The PTSA advocates for all students by

Students are an important part of the Booker T PTSA. Not only do they have opportunities for creative expression through programs like Reflections and our own Student Activity Grants, they can also develop leadership skills and advocate for issues that affect their education and well-being. The BTWHSPVA PTSA is proud to be recognized by Texas PTA for our student membership.

Texas PTSA has also recognized BTWHSPVA PTSA for going above and beyond to create meaningful connections and strengthen engagement among families and students. These PTAs build strong connections and break down barriers to participation. Their efforts remain mission-driven and inclusive in every area, from membership and leadership to programs, advocacy, training, partnerships, and communications.

This year we also received the Outstanding Program Engagement Award from Texas PTA, recognizing Local PTAs that provide a variety of high-quality, year-round programs.
