ABOUT THE MUSICAL
Shrek the Musical brings the beloved DreamWorks film to the stage with a burst of color, comedy, and heart. Featuring music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay Abaire, the show takes the familiar story audiences love and elevates it with a vibrant score, deeper character arcs, and a world that feels even more magical when experienced live.
The musical gives audiences a chance to see the characters in a whole new light. Their backstories are expanded, their emotional journeys are richer, and their relationships gain new layers of humor and tenderness. The score is packed with unforgettable moments, from the joyful opening of Big Bright Beautiful World to the heartfelt harmonies of I Know It’s Today and the soaring emotion of Who I’d Be. Each number brings its own spark, whether it is laugh out loud funny, unexpectedly touching, or filled with Broadway sized energy.
With its blend of comedy, heart, and spectacular storytelling, Shrek the Musical promises an experience that will delight longtime fans and first-time audience members alike. It is a show that invites everyone to lean in, laugh hard, and leave the theater feeling inspired and uplifted.
