Booker T. Angels

Booker T. Angels is an annual tradition in December that the BTWHSPVA Student Council, PTSA, and Guilds host for local families in need. Each conservatory guild and the STUCO + PTSA support a family experience by donating gifts from their wishlists. Items on the wishlists include school uniforms, toys, and holiday decor.

Booker T. Angels 2023

The spirit of the holiday season was in full effect on Monday, December 18, as volunteers from the PTSA, Student Council, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts Guilds worked together to create a special holiday experience for the Booker T. Angel families. There was much to prepare to host our five Angel families, and we couldn't have done it without the generous support and help of our amazing Booker T. families. We collected wishlists, asked for donations, wrapped gifts, hauled the gifts from Booker T. to H.I. Holland Elementary School, and decorated classrooms per 'Angel' family.

All thirty family members were overjoyed entering the classrooms decorated with inflatables and gifts just for them. The student council were great hosts, welcoming the families, crafting, decorating sugar cookies, and playing games with the kids. After a pizza dinner provided by the PTSA, the kids were ecstatic to see and talk to Santa Claus, aka Patrick McGhee, our Booker T. Language and Literature faculty member.

The families were excited and so grateful for the generosity of our Booker T. faculty and families. Everyone left the elementary school feeling merry and bright! Thank you to everyone who supported the annual program of giving back to the community with donations and volunteering. Scroll through the photos below to see how your support provided this meaningful experience.

Booker T. Angels 2022

The 2022 event was December 14, and with help from our BTW community we were able to host a celebration for five families from H. I. Holland Elementary School. Student Council created a festive space for the event in the Commons and our guests were treated to pizza, cookie decorating, puzzles, games, dancing, shopping and Santa! In addition to gifts, each family took home a Christmas tree and holiday inflatable. At the end of the night Student Council and parent volunteers loaded two school buses with gifts (and several bikes!) so the families could open presents at home. Check out the slideshow for all the merry details.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shopped, volunteered, wrapped and hosted!
