Sounds and Voices...the Celebration of a People Show

(formerly known as the African American Heritage Show)

DISD proudly celebrates the heritage of our Nation's people every February. As part of this celebration, Booker T.'s annual all-school, student-led Sounds and Voices Show takes place at the Montgomery Arts Theatre. The PTSA covers the production expenses and hospitality as the Executive Producer of the show. This annual production powerfully emphasizes the cultural significance of the heritage of our Nation's people while showcasing the talents of students in grades 9-12. The show captivates audiences with collaborative presentations from students across all conservatories, highlighting their exceptional skills in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts.
