Thank you for your interest in serving on the BTWHSPVA PTSA Executive Board for the 2025-26 school year! We welcome and encourage involvement representing each grade level and every Conservatory.
Please fill out the PTSA Officer Interest Form by March 2, 2025, to be considered by the Nominating Committee. Elections for the following PTSA year are held at the general membership meeting in April.
DESCRIPTION OF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ROLES
The PTSA Executive Board works with the PTA values in mind, including collaboration. Many roles and responsibilities overlap, and board members work as a team. All Officer positions are highly engaged and take a large time commitment. Officers often connect directly with faculty and provide leadership for Committee Chairs.
President - Lead and guide work with all board members to help meet their goals and required duties. Foster an environment of open communication among all board members. Appoint committee leadership and serve as an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Nominating and Financial Reconciliation committees. Serve as the main point of contact for BTWHSPVA Administration and leadership to align goals.
Vice President - Works as the primary aide to the President. Performs President's duties in their absence. Work with all board members to help meet their goals and required duties. Serve as the main point of contact for the Academic Conservatory and support campus needs.
VP Communications - Create, plan, and execute school-year communication cadence and calendar. Leverage all communication channels to gain the broadest reach to the BTWHSPVA community - including email, social media, Remind, and Membership Toolkit. Partner with the Executive Officers and Committee chairs on communication needs to ensure complete and full messaging is shared. Assist in the production of the Playbill for the PTSA-sponsored productions.
VP Community + Programs - Provide year-round programming to support faculty, student, and family engagement. Research program providers and/or ideas aligned with identified needs and goals.
VP Fundraising - Lead and provide year-round fundraisers to support programming and production needs through class dues, spirit wear, sponsorship, partners, and donations for school-wide productions: the All-School Musical, Hispanic Heritage Show, African-American Festival, and Creations, and programming opportunities.
VP Membership - Host membership drives throughout the year to recruit faculty, staff and one parent/guardian and student per household to advocate with the PTA's slogan - Every child. One Voice. Also, assist with hospitality, volunteer sign-ups, training and Texas and National PTA award applications.
Treasurer - Manage the PTSA bank account and present a financial report of all accounts at all membership and executive board meetings. Make timely deposits and disbursements in accordance with the budget, as adopted by the membership, and verify each transaction is documented.
Secretary - Store essential documents for record-keeping on the Membership Toolkit. Type meeting minutes and assist the President in determining a quorum at association and board meetings. Present minutes from the previous meeting, association, or board.
*Parliamentarian and Committee Chairs are appointed by the President, with Executive Board approval. An interest form for these positions will be posted at a later date.
Please note: all PTSA Officers are considered members of the Executive Board, and all can cast a vote (except the Parliamentarian). The Executive Board meets monthly, and regular attendance is required to conduct business.
