MESSAGE FROM 2023-24 PTSA PRESIDENT PATRICIA MOJICA

Greetings, Booker T. family!

April is going to be a fantastic month! This newsletter is jam packed with so much exciting information! Be sure to click on "View Entire Newsletter" at the bottom of your email to read all the articles. You don't want to miss all the announcements!

I am excited to share the BIG announcement of the All School Musical (ASM)! After much consideration for the vision of the 2024-25 school year and taking into account the past three all school musical productions,

Principal Williams announced on Friday during flex that the next musical is based on a true story of living legends Emilio and Gloria Estefan with their original musical, ON YOUR FEET!

I am optimistic about the opportunities that this musical will provide for our students! They will learn to portray real life entertainers, dive into the Cuban American heritage, triumph over life's challenges, and celebrate family. This uplifting musical will warm your heart and make you want to get ON YOUR FEET, as the music will move your hips! Read more about the musical and the bios of the Estefans and the Oscar award-winning writer Alexander Dinelaris in the ASM article below. To watch an exceptional performance by the Broadway touring company and a special Kennedy Honors presentation for Gloria Estefan, click the graphic or here.

The BTW Advisory Board's annual Spring fundraiser FLYINGHORSE, will be held in the MAT on Friday, April 19! This professionally produced show highlights the talent and skills of our Pegasi and celebrates the uniqueness of the Arts Magnet. The Dallas Arts community is invited to the 8:30 p.m. show to support public education. Tickets to the friends and family performance is $10 and will start at 6 p.m. The show is expected to sell out!
