Are you interested in serving on the 2025-26 PTSA Board? We welcome and encourage members to visit the membership toolkit to review the positions. ALL positions will become available as senior parents graduate, and each position has a term limit of two years. A successful election is essential to a smooth transition for the PTSA from year to year. All interested members must complete this form for consideration by March 2.

PROGRAMS

Join us for Lunch Talk with the Principal on Thursday, January 23 at 12 pm in the library! This casual meet and greet session gives parents a chance to meet in a smaller group setting to hear the latest about the school directly from Principal Williams. All are welcome! Please RSVP by Monday, January 20, so we can plan light bites and refreshments. Afterward, parents can stay on campus to have lunch with their student.

The Pegasus Pantry is a resource to supplement meals, provide healthy snacks and clothing for students in need. The pantry continually needs donations. Please shop from the Amazon Wishlist and have the items delivered to the school in care of Nurse Wiley. Items include: cereal, oatmeal, pasta, snacks, body wash, socks, underwear, and clothes. Donations may be dropped off at the nurse's office. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

The regional results for the Reflections program are in! Save the date! Regional awards will be presented at the Creations show on May 9. Congratulations Pegasi!

Save the Date! The first All School Student-Led Musical Theatre Production of the New Year will honor the African American Heritage and be celebrated in the Montgomery Arts Theatre from February 26-28, 2025. This year's show is a Musical Theatre Production called Re-Tales

Show Synopsis: Re-Tales is about a woman who enters a Re-Tale store in search of love and happiness and travels through a catalogue of tales (traditional nursery rhymes) retold to fit the mold of the buyer.

SENIORS - CLASS OF 2025

Save the date! Senior students are invited to the Senior Speaker Series on Friday, January 31 from 12 - 1 pm in The MAT. The topic will be "New Graduate Living - Fueling Your Body and Dorm Essentials."

FAFSA Reminder: Completing the FAFSA application is a graduation requirement issued by the state. Upon completing the form, students must forward the confirmation email to the ASP College Advisors to fulfill this requirement.

The Class of 2027 is hitting the ground running in this new year! Save the dates for the following fundraisers and programs:

  • Sophomores are hosting the next Spirit Night at Chipotle on January 22 from 5-9 pm. Click here to see the flyer! All grades are welcome!
  • Kendra Scott gives back to BTWHSPVA PTSA! Shop online or in person at North Park Mall on January 31. See the flyer for more details.
  • Sophomore Silent Auction Support needed! A silent auction will be held on opening night of the African American Heritage show on February 27. Please support by donating items for the auctions.   • The date for the Financial Planning Program will be announced soon. This session is geared towards helping students transition to adulthood by learning to save money and how to make sound financial decisions. Students and parents from all grades are welcome to attend.

  • Have you paid your Class Dues? You know all those cool activities students get to do senior year?! Senior picnic, senior-faculty volleyball game, Welcome Week, Baccaleauratete, senior surprises and so much more?! Those activities and much more are paid through annual class dues. 9-11th grade students pay $35 each year and $90 for 12th grade year. STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Only three months of funding awards remain! Faculty sponsors and student leaders of official BTWHSPVA student organizations can apply for up to $500 per school year to fund specific needs that align with program goals, activities, events, and celebrations. The PTSA grants a Student Program Activity Fund to one student organization each month. Applications submitted by the 30th of each month will be considered for the following month's award selection. Applications are currently open for submission. Apply now! 

Save the date: the Winter Ball will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Frontier Flight Museum to match our school theme this year "Aim High, Fly Higher!" The PTSA is working with the Student Council to to support this annual dance. More details will be shared soon.

SCHOOL INFORMATION

Audition applications for BTWHSPVA are accepted through January 31, 2024. For more information on the application and audition process see the timeline below and visit the school website.

  • January 24 - Tours available (new date added)
  • January 25 -  Auditions by appointment
  • January 31 - Final deadline for applications
  • February 8 - Auditions by appointment
  • March 1 - Notification letter emailed by the district

SAT Prep will resume on Tuesdays starting January 21st after school from 4:40-5:25 pm in the Gold Conference Room. Please note: 

  • Students attending must complete this form with each session they are attending.
  • Students unable to attend in person can receive SAT prep worksheets. Include your email on this form, and stop by room 212 to pick up your worksheet.
  • Extra credit is provided to students (of Ms. Townsel and Ms. Fulton) who attend three or more sessions.

Dual credit is a process through which a student may earn high school credit for successfully completing a college course that provides advanced academic instruction beyond, or in greater depth than, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for a corresponding high school course. The “dual credit” earned is college credit and high school credit for one course. To learn more about dual credit join the virtual meeting through Microsoft Teams on Thursday, January 30th at 6:00 pm.
