| The New Year is in Motion The weather may be chilly but plans for upcoming events are warming up! Voices and Sounds is coming up on February 27th and we would love your help spreading the word. This festival will feature an exciting lineup of performances from every conservatory and auditions are complete. It should be one of the most dynamic showcases of the year, and we hope you will join us in celebrating the extraordinary talent of our scholar artists. Mark your calendar and plan to be there! The presentation, “How to Pay for College Without Going Broke,” held Wednesday, January 14 in the Commons was well attended and those present had a fun time learning about tips to consider when planning to pay for college. The session offered practical and proven strategies for making college more affordable and accessible with opportunity to schedule a one-on-one session. Check out the opportunity below if you were not able to attend. Thank you to all getting back into the swing of things in support of the school community. With gratitude, Leah |

Alondra Barron was born and raised in Dallas, and her lifelong connection to the city has shaped her commitment to strengthening the school communities her family has been part of. Now in her first year serving on the BTWHSPVA PTSA board, Alondra brings a wealth of experience, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine passion for supporting students, families, and teachers. Alondra has always believed that parent organizations play a vital role in shaping a school’s culture. To her, PTSA is more than a volunteer group...it’s a platform where families and educators can share ideas, raise concerns, and help influence decisions that directly impact students. She values the opportunity to be part of those conversations and is dedicated to ensuring that the Booker T. community feels welcomed, informed, and supported. Professionally, Alondra works as a Supply Chain Manager for Azelis, a leading chemical distributor in North America. Her background in logistics, planning, and relationship‑building gives her a natural edge in her role as Hospitality Chair, where organization, communication, and thoughtful coordination are essential. She approaches every task with the same level of care she brings to her professional work, ensuring that events and initiatives run smoothly and reflect the warmth of the Booker T. community. Her volunteer history is extensive and reflects years of dedication to education and service. Alondra previously served as Treasurer for Sunset High School and spent four years on the St. Cecilia Catholic School PTSA board. She also continues to support UME Prep through occasional volunteer work. Whether she’s managing budgets, organizing events, or lending a hand behind the scenes, Alondra is known for her reliability, positivity, and willingness to step in wherever she’s needed. Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Alondra enjoys reading whenever she can carve out the time. But her greatest joy comes from watching her daughter perform, especially on the dance stage. Supporting her artistic journeys has given her a deep appreciation for the dedication, discipline, and passion that define the Booker T. experience. Her favorite aspect of being a part of BTWHSPVA is the Dance Conservatory, which she believes offers world‑class training and invaluable preparation for her daughter’s future. Alondra is the proud parent of Jaelynn Barron, Class of 2029, Dance Conservatory, and she is excited to support the school that is helping her daughter grow as both an artist and a young adult. Alondra looks forward to continuing her service on the PTSA and contributing to the vibrant, creative, and supportive environment that makes Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts such a special place. |
The BTWHSPVA PTSA is delighted to recognize Alondra Barron for her exceptional service as our Hospitality Chair. With warmth, creativity, and a remarkable talent for making people feel welcome, Alondra has elevated the spirit of hospitality throughout the Booker T. community. Alondra brings heart to every detail. Whether she is coordinating meals, creating inviting atmospheres, or ensuring that every gathering feels thoughtful and inclusive, she infuses each moment with genuine care. Her efforts help families feel appreciated, staff feel supported, and students feel celebrated, strengthening the sense of belonging that defines Booker T. Her dedication reaches far beyond logistics. Alondra understands that hospitality is about connection, comfort, and community. Because of her work, PTSA events become meaningful experiences where people feel seen, valued, and part of something special. Thank you, Alondra, for the generosity, joy, and intention you bring to your role. Your hospitality enriches our school and helps make Booker T. a place where everyone feels at home! |
