A NOTE FROM MS. CLAYTON FOR SENIOR FAMILIES: I am excited about our Class of 2024 progress this semester! I want to provide some context to our families as to the recent updates from UT Austin regarding our applicants from Booker T. Class of 2024. UT Austin only guarantees admission to the top 6% of a graduating Texas high school class. TheTexas legislature mandates that 75% of their total freshman class must come from the top 6% of students across Texas high schools, and this legislation was upheld in June 2023. To provide a little context about how our students are faring in the UT process, here is the current state of admissions for our seniors, although not all decisions have been released, particularly for some music students still auditioning. - 72 applicants to UT Austin
- 31 admitted (21 outside top 6%)
- 28 CAP offers, which is where a student starts at a branch campus before being admitted as a guaranteed transfer student to the Austin campus
- We had numerous offers from some of UT's most competitive majors and programs, including business, science, performing/visual arts, and Plan II Honors.
Our next on-campus SAT prep is open to all students. It will be Tuesday, Feb. 13, in room 208 at 4:45. |
- Student Activity Support is available from the PTSA for student clubs in need of funding. Get the information and apply on the Membership Toolkit.
| - The Pegasus Pantry needs your help! Please help restock the shelves by donating microwaveable, non-perishable food. Items can be purchased and shipped through the Amazon Wishlist or dropped off at the school in care of Nurse Wiley.
