MESSAGE FROM 2023-24 PTSA PRESIDENT PATRICIA MOJICA

Greetings, Booker T. family!

Congratulations on reaching the last week of school! Give yourself a pat on the back and high-five your fellow students or parents! As we begin the final week of school, I'd like to take a moment to address our Senior students.

When you first arrived at Booker T., you were wide-eyed students. Over the years, the school has received numerous awards and recognition, many of which are a direct result of the excellence of your work. Your partnership with the teachers and students, and the support of our PTSA parents and community, guilds, and advisory board have been instrumental in these achievements. Whenever guidance was needed, you likely received support through tutorials, private lessons, conferences, scholarships, and advice to navigate your conservatory studies. In return, all we asked was for you to continue your journey and work towards your goals. Now, as you prepare to leave, you leave behind a powerful legacy!

We hope you to return and share your experiences with the next generation of artists soon. Your involvement is crucial to the continued success of our school. Don't forget to join us on alum night for the all-school productions! We wish you good luck, sound health, unending success, and all the best in your future endeavors as future leaders and artists. Congratulations to our graduating class of 2024!

The All-School Musical cast auditions are held on campus Tuesday -Thursday! Please see the ASM article below for updates on the auditions! Students technically trained in one performance skill and interested in forming more are encouraged to audition. Our faculty understands that not all singers are necessarily trained in dancing techniques, and dancers are likely not trained in singing. The faculty is looking for potential as well as skill. If you can sing Happy Birthday in tune and have rhythm in movement, this audition is for you! There is also a big need for male students to audition. So GO FOR IT! This is your opportunity to be in the opening production of the school year! Prepare, practice, and give it your all! Good luck, Pegasi!

I'm excited to share another All-School Musical announcement! Our expert resident faculty Costume Construction teacher, Ms. Renee Jones, is joining the Costume Design Team! Together, Ms. Jones and Mr. Hernandez will form a design crew of interested students enrolled in costume design classes and those who are not costume design students but are interested in learning the procedures and skills associated with costume production. Please read the ASM article below to apply by May 24.

More announcements will be shared in the upcoming weeks and months as more faculty members of the arts join the production team, providing more opportunities for our students to get involved! Make sure to renew your PTSA membership for the next school year to stay on the email subscription list to receive the PTSA newsletters over the summer.

Thank you to all who joined us for the last PTSA meeting of the year! A warm, heartfelt thank you to the officers for the generous gift basket. We accomplished so much this year, and I'm so grateful to our executive board, committee chairs, members, administration, faculty, and alums for all you did to support this legendary school. Year 101 did shape up to be the best yet! Have a wonderful last week of school!
