Class of 2029 | November Newsletter

Hello Class of 2029 Families!

My name is Andrew Snow, and I am serving as the BTWPTSA Class of 2029 Chair. Like many of you, I’m still finding my rhythm as a new BTW parent, and I’m just now feeling grounded enough to get our Class of 2029 efforts moving.

The Purpose of Our Committee:

Every class at Booker T is responsible for raising its own funds over four years to support the senior-year experience and the traditions that come with it. Historically, classes raise a combined total of about $30,000 by the end of junior year. To stay on track, our Class of 2029 goal for this year is $10,000.

Here’s where we stand towards the goal so far:

We have already collected just over $4,000 through PTSA dues from Class of 2029 parents and students! Moving forward, we hope to raise $2,250 toward the 2025 Creations event (a signature BTW fundraiser). We also aim to recruit at least 8 “Friends of the Class of 2029” who, through sponsorship of the class spirit nights this year, will contribute an additional $4,000 (more info on this below). And, finally, we hope to continue to increase PTSA membership among parents and students.

These are the same strategies successful classes before us have used to hit their goals:

  • Build community through Class of 2029 socials and Spirit Nights (see below)
  • Support the 2026 Creations event through guest experience roles
  • Increase PTSA membership among parents and students

Our goal is not constant fundraising. It is consistency. We are moving in the right direction, and we believe a bit of intentionality and participation will help us hit this year’s target.

Thank you again for your support and for what you’re doing behind the scenes to help your student thrive here. I hope to see you at tomorrow's monthly PTSA meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. at the school.

Sincerely,

Andrew F. Snow (Dad of Harrison Snow, Visual Arts, Class of 2029)

Class of 2029 Sponsorships
New opportunity: Friends of the Class of 2029 ($1,000 sponsorship):

For families or businesses who prefer one meaningful contribution instead of multiple smaller asks throughout the year, we’re introducing Friends of the Class of 2029.

How it works:

  • $500 is applied toward hosting a tab at a Class of 2029 Spirit Night (so families can simply show up)

  • $500 goes directly toward the Class of 2029 fundraising goal

  • Your company or family name will be listed and linked in each Class of 2029 email for the rest of the school year

This allows us to build community and make significant progress on our annual target. If you’re interested, email me directly and I’ll follow up with details.
